Health Manager Job Description - Closing Sunday, December 8, 2024
Due to an upcoming retirement, the Grand Forks Senior Center is accepting applications for a Health Services Manager. RN required. We will consider applicants wishing to work 34-40 hours/week. No nights, weekends or holidays. Full benefit package is available. This is a hands-on position with a combination of management and service delivery. Current staffing oversight includes 1 full time RN, 1 flex-time RN and 2 volunteers. Starting time can be flexible between 7am-8am.

40 hour week: 7:30am-4:30pm M-TH; 7:30-1:30 F

34 hour week: 7am-4pm M-TH

Job summary: The Health Manager position is a department manager position and part of the Leadership Team of the Grand Forks Senior Center. This position is responsible for the planning, direction and coordination of all Health department federal Older Americans Act Title III activities for older adults, 60+ years of age, in Grand Forks & Nelson County. This position works with the staff and volunteers to provide quality service to all customers. Department services include foot care, blood pressure screening, and rapid inspection. These services are done in the Grand Forks Senior Center clinic, Nelson County off site clinics and in client homes in Grand Forks and Nelson counties. Nelson County clinics are at 5 off-sites every 2 months. Working with the Executive Director, this position is responsible for establishing departmental policies & procedures; personnel management; fiscal planning & annual budget; overseeing the purchase of supplies and equipment; adherence to all regulations; and adherence to all Association policies. The manager oversees implementation of any grant funding for the department. The manager participates in Association and community-based committees as required and/or requested by the Executive Director or Board of Directors.

Full-Time Cook - Closing Friday, December 20, 2024
This new position will work with our other cooks in the preparation of nutritious and safe food for meals prepared at our kitchen at 620 4th Ave South in Grand Forks.  The senior citizen meal production for this site in Grand Forks includes the “dining in” program (breakfast and lunch) for the GF Senior Center; one on-site and two off-site grab-n-go locations; Meals on Wheels-meal delivery program; and a frozen meal program covering GF and Nelson counties.  The average number of meals is 450-500/day.  

This is a full time, benefitted position.

Hours are 6am-2:30 M-TH; 6am-1:30 F.  No nights, weekends or holidays.

Hourly wage:  $26.25

Meals on Wheels Volunteers
Help feed older homebound adults! The Grand Forks Senior Center is in need of regular and substitute volunteer drivers for Meals on Wheels routes. Meals on Wheels are delivered Monday through Friday, with volunteers meeting at the Grand Forks Senior Center (620 4th Ave S) at 10:30 a.m. Choose which day you would like to deliver! Home Delivered Meals Volunteers
Help feed older adults! The Grand Forks Senior Center is in need of regular and substitute volunteer drivers for its Home Delivered Meals program, run out of the Altru Hospital kitchen. Bingo Volunteers 
We need bingo workers! Bingo is at 1 pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Sign up to help once in a while or pick a day to help out each week. The payout volunteers need to be comfortable working with money. The Bingo floor walkers need to be able to stand for a period of time. Contact the Bingo Coordinator, Cheryl at 701-757-4873 or email gaming@gfseniorcenter.org.

Dining Room Volunteers 
We are in need of people to work as Dining Room Volunteers for the weekday noon meals. Must be able to stand for 1 hour. If interested, contact the Dining Room Coordinator, Mary at 701-757-4869 or email meals@gfseniorcenter.org.

Walk-In Clinic SUBSTITUTE Foot Clinic Volunteers - Needed to assist nurses with walk-in clinics when our regular volunteers are gone. Contact our Health Supervisor at 701-757-4868 or health@gfseniorcenter.org.

Tech Volunteers - In order to meet the demand for tech support, we are looking for volunteers to help seniors use smartphones, iPads, tablets, etc. Please contact the Activity Coordinator, Kari Situm at 701-757-4866 or activity@gfseniorcenter.org if interested.
